We’ve had snow in Poitiers before, specifically, my first winter here, when it stayed on the ground for three weeks. But it was never this deep or this cold! Here are some photos of chez nous in conditions we are not prepared for:
This second snowfall happened Sunday and added to the first, which hadn’t melted because temperatures have stayed below freezing the past week. So on Sunday, we woke up to fresh snow, grabbed everyone’s skis, and went to a motocross course in the north of Poitiers. Evidence:
School has been kind of touch and go because there have been no school buses for the students. Tomorrow I’m off to Tours for a day of training and I hope everything will be back to normal attendance Thursday.
