I’m not a huge fan of Halloween (much more of a Thanksgiving woman) but my anglophone friends decided to have a Halloween party this year and since it fell (naturally) during the Toussaint vacation, I went!

But first, we had to carve pumpkins. Which meant finding pumpkins. We went to two Intermarchés (the only stores open on Sunday morning). At the first all we found were some weird orange squash, which we took anyway. At the second we had better luck and found these pumpkins that were particularly flat but at least big. In French they’re called musqué de Provence and apparently, in English, fairytale pumpkins.

Musqués de Provence

We had a mix of one (1) Austrlian, one Englishman, three Americans, and one Canadian participating.

A work in progress

The finished product

I was quite pleased!
