Before and durings

So we’re not ready yet for before and after pictures of the house renovations, but I have taken about 100 pictures of everything we’ve done, so I’d like to share nonetheless. After the jump!

Before also. That blue color on the tile is a primer for the newer tile to be able to stick on top.

Before. We hadn't planned on taking down the wooden siding, but we had to in order to put in new tile. This tile was also put in when the house was built, though this part with the kitchen is actually an extension.

With the kitchen being a priority, there are for now just two rows of tile that cross the hallway from the living room to the kitchen.

Voilà pour l’instant! There is lots more to do and we’d like the kitchen and hallway to be done for our housewarming party on June 28th. After that we’ll work on the master bedroom where we have to knock down a wall and put up another. Someday I’ll have a small office to work in.

This is awesome. Can’t believe someone was so misguided as to tile with blue flowers — maybe they were a 14-year-old girl? I would’ve been all over that in 9th grade. It must be satisfying to demolish stuff, but even more satisfying once it’s done, I’m sure. Keep posting updates!!

    • That type of tiling was very in during the 70s here and it’s exactly the type of tiling that I hate in French homes! We knew from the first visit that we’d get rid of it. You’ll have to come see it when it’s done!

What do you think?
